Magpul Hunter 700 stock

Not sure I'm in the right area for this question, but...…….I recently installed a Hunter 700 stock/mag well on my SPS Varmint 308. Cheapest way I could upgrade the stock/mag conversion - it's a start. I know there's better stuff out there but so far I'm happy with it. Access to other brands can be a challenge here in Canada. My question - I need to install studs for bipods/slings, etc. Of course there's the M Lock stuff. But if I decided to just drill and insert screw in studs (which I'll have to do at the rear of the stock anyway for a sling) standard 3/4" stock studs appear that they might be too long and the smaller 1/2 I'm not sure would hold stronger enough given the weight of the rifle. Anyone done either and could offer any advice on the best way to go ? Thanks

I believe there are dimples in the fore end where you are supposed to drill for a swivel stud. That said, I’d go with flush cups for the sling and install a short segment of pic rail for the bipod.

Thanks, yes, I'll order those, atleast to use one on the rear of the stock, maybe put one up front as well as an M Lock. They're out of stock on these studs right now so i'll have to wait for those. Thanks again
