May be a silly question (and yes, I searched) but will the Magpul XTM rail covers fit the quad rails on a 308 AR? I don't know if the diameter is different because of the barrel contour and as a result the rails are made wider. Any help?

Here they are on a free float four rail. This is over a .995 bull barrel. Pretty big profile. I think they look good. They should fit fine. A rail is a rail is a rail. The dimensions will be the same.

Perfect. I ordered 6. 3 ea of black, FDE and foliage and I'll have a couple extra in case one breaks or gets lost.

btw what kind of optic is that wearing? Not sure I've ever seen one like that before and I can't make out the brand on the parallax knob.

Re: Magpul XTMs on AR10?

It's an inexpensive Leapers fixed four. It's real clear and holds zero great with an illuminated, red/green mildot retical, but being only four power the parilax covers the dang target at any distance. I bought it for a .22lr trainer build and figured I'd put it on this rifle until I could get something better. It really is a great little scope and will be good for hunting but no so much for any kind of precision work on paper.

I just measured the panels and each one covers 1.5" of rail. But I see that question has been answered. I think you'll like the covers. They look good, don't faulter in use and have a good firm feel to them.

Cheers. G.
