Mags for 22br

Would anyone responding please tell us what action you are using, pretty please.

For 6mmBR

I use AICS 10 rnd mag with PR kit. The front of the lips are cut back .050 too, which made feeding 6x47l beforehand perfect.

Mine is a Mausingfield. Bullet shape and OACL seem to be critical for halfway decent feeding. On top of that a case will turn around backwards on occasion instead of ejecting out. Can't feed mine slow, it'll hang up.

I put more tension on the extractor today as well as relieving the underneath of the extractor where the rim comes into it so we'll see how the mods go next time I go shooting.

Mine currently is a Bat, curtis on the way.

I run a br and brx, both 6s though. Plain Jane Remington 700. In an Xlr evolution stock. I run aics brand mags with the PVA spacer kits. I also modded and accurate brand 223 mag by only using the back part of their insert. My first mag, that still works like a champ, is a aics polymer 223 mag that I filed the feed lips to open them up to accept the br sized case.

With all of these mags, if I run the bolt at a reasonable speed, I don’t have any problems. If I run it slow it will drop a case in the action sometimes.

There is a guy on the hide selling a mag tool to load the shorter cases. I bought that tool and loaded my 12 round Mdt mags. It seemed to work but has not been field tested yet. This would be by far the most economical way to give it a try. Smoooth1 Is his username

I have an AICS 10 rd magazine with the Primal Rights BR kit.
Wanted a lower profile magazine so I got an ARC magazine & an HRD Gear BR kit on the assumption that it would be an easy conversion.
To say it was not a drop in fit would be an understatement.
Three hours later it’s feeding fine in the workshop, the real test will be on the range though.

You mean like tube gun mags?

Yes, but the Eliseo's are 5 round I think. I should have specified 10 round.

A system made 99.9% reliable from the start "action and mag system". Take today for example, I'm going to remove another .050" off the front of the feed lips of my AICS 10 round mag, hoping I don't ruin it because a loaded 6mmBR round won't slide up under the CRF extractor well.

You're right. But in theory they could be made into 10s. The way they work is what we spend $100+ on buying mags then mag kits and followers.

I expect something from MDT very soon

Finally got to test the ARC magazine & modified HRD gear kit today.
As I wrote previously it functioned flawlessly in the workshop but today on the range I had two nosedives on the 4th & 7th rounds.
Back to the drawing board.

I had a 20br on a standard Rem 700. I tried aluminum block in rear of the mag and then Wyatt mag insert and follower then changed to AI mags and blockedthe rear again.
Nothing worked because the cartridge was just too short for the action and it was "loose" in the breech before thebullet was captive in the chamber.
It was a super accurate rifle, but sold it because of the feeding issue.

Good luck.

It took 3 attempts bending the feed lips on my AICS 10 round mag with Primal Rights BR kit but my ARC Mausingfield fed perfectly today, YAY, finally! This was during a match too when if it were going to malfunction it would have.

But during all that I modified the extractor a bit which also helped. Thanks KT for the sound advice!

I recently chambered a barrel in 22 BR for my TL3 and I have not had feed issues yet while just running regular Magpul AICS mags with no modifications. Rounds feed right into the chamber. The mags are kind of hard to load, but that is not a huge deal. I'll run it in a club match to see if any feed issues show up.

Can you describe the mods needed for their kit. I have your 10 and 12 round mags.
Here are some pictures from my friend Derek that detail where the issues are in our magazines with the other aftermarket followers:
