Manners GAT

Re: Manners GAT

i have a LA and L O V E it! I just ordered a SA as well.

IMO It has less "bulk", The T5 is bad ass don't get me wrong. The comb fits me ideally. No need for adjustment which is nice. I really like a thumb hole stock to maneuver the rifle and control with one hand.

The smaller flat fore end is really nice. I don't want to run the big heavy barrels so I use this style and it works great.

I got my first one about 3 years ago and run on my 300WM hunting rifle and really love it. When I decided to go to a SA I looked at all the options and finally decided I stick with what I like and works.

All Toms stocks are nice, you will not be disappointed.

The weight is about the same or slightly less that a T5A.

Re: Manners GAT

I had a Gat stock and loved it. Of coarse i am a sucker for thumb hole stocks and have always liked them. I had a build that i wanted to do with it and called Tom to see if i could put a Bat 3 lug action into. He said yes but the back would have to be built up for the tang. Did it and it worked out perfect. Those guys over at manners are the best. What i do really like about his stocks is that you have plenty of room when your thumb is in it to adjust your grip unlike alot of others that fit like a glove when your hand is in it. I would say i have medium size hands and even if you have large hands it will still give you room. The T5 is on my list for a build down the road for sure. Sendero Man here i believe has one and maybe he will chime in with his opinion.

Re: Manners GAT

Currently have a build in progress on a GAT. Will have to get back on how much I like or dislike it as I have never got behind one and shot with it.
