Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

Re: Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

The only way to tell which you'll prefer is to get behind both. I have a couple T5A's and prefer the location of it's butt hook over the Sentinel. But, that's MY preference.

Re: Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

Thanks guys!
I've got a T5A about 8 weeks out. I just found out the Sentinels are about a 16 week wait from McMillan, so I'll do the next build on the Manners.
I shouldn't have thrown out the question, "Can anybody tell me why one is better than the other?", because they are both about as good as it gets.

Re: Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

I like the KMW but haven't shot the T5A yet. Tom at TVP will let you try the KMW when you head back up there. Would be a good place to compare them...Just my 2 cts.

Thanks 606!
I've looked at and handled several of Tom's Sentinel-stocked rifles, but I've never shot one of them.
We need to get together for a shoot at TVP!

Re: Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

Love my T5-a. Great feel, gets my hand in a good repeatable position. I've only been behind The KMW once... It is really nice also. Never dealt with KMW but hear Terry is a great guy. Manners was fantastic to deal with, right down to picking a paint scheme and exchanging ideas and photos. Todd and Tom are solid.

Don't think you can go wrong either way, but I'm biased towards manners

Re: Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

I have and shoot both.....but ultimately it comes down to what fits you better. Ive been shootings T5A's for the past couple months while my rifle was at the smith (KMW stocked rifle). When I got it out back together and setup, laying behind it felt so foreign compared to my T5A's. I have to cant my head over to the side alot more on the sentinel to get a good cheek weld and also get a full sight picture. This is due to the heavier/thicker cheek piece on the sentinel. On my T5A's, I can get a good cheek weld while keeping my head almost vertical/no cant. I much prefer this for a number of reasons.

Seperately, they will both feel like very nice stocks, so if you compare, do them side by side at the same time.

Re: Manners MCS-T5A vs. KMW Sentinel

I've handled both and both are excellent stocks.

On that note...if you want one in a some what timely manner......The T5 is the route to go.....the Sentinels can take awhile to get.
