I am wondering what the width of the barrel channel at the end of the fore end of a Manners PRS Stock is when but for an MTU contour.

I run a savage bull that is basically 1.000” straight off the threads and if the MTU cut will accommodate that.

I don’t really want to run a 1.35 straight channel cause I will not put that heavy of a barrel on this stock.

a 1" shank probably isn't enough meat to should a barrel on a standard action. 1.35" is a fat shank mostly used for the Surgeon actions. 1.2-1.25" is standard diameter for most barrels. You can look up the dimensions online and do the math as it's a straight taper (linear decrease of diameter vs length). I'm too lazy right now to do the math for you but it's quite easy to figure out from online prints what the diameter will be at a given length for a straight tapered/match taper barrel.

Quick math told me at around a 14.75 inch finished MTU barrel the diameter will be around 1.08" fyi. Quick rough math but should be very close to that. This assumes the manners stock extends 14" past the lug which idk if that's accurate. May be less. If it is then you're looking at even fatter.
