Manners Mud Camo

3wide,

I confirmed the order on January 22 so it's been 132 days or 18.5 weeks. I paid for the stock a few weeks ago and was told it would be shipped the first or second week of June. I do know the folders take a little bit more time. This is only my experience so your wait may be different. I can't wait to get it!

I lucked out. No T4As in stock at Stocky's or most others. So I called about converting a T4 to T4A (cannot be done, different molds). So then Jaime asked what I was looking for. T4A, Rem S/A, Manners Mini Chassis. So she says, I have one right here ready to ship, in Mud. I asked about repainting (they would paint for free), but decided to try the Mud. So my wait time, so far 5 days. I shipped yesterday. :)

That looks great. Those are exactly the colors I'm thinking of for a custom camo job on my new 300WM. Except I want it overall lighter, mostly sand colored with the red/clay and green/sage kind of washed out and hazy looking. LOVE Manners stocks!

Is that the standard 40%,30%,30% color mix?

I do like the colors. Wish they had better pictures on their website. I know it's only looks but I would hate to spend $1200 and dislike the color.

3 wide. Im not sure they call it that. Their molded camos are 3 colors. They do a base and 2 colors over that. This is a camo pattern offered by them starting this year. I dig the colors. They are perfect for my area that is made up of red dirt, sand, and gumbo mud.

Looks better in natural light than it does on the website.

Interestingly, so does MCS-Desert Sage.

Plus one for this.
This is a T6a in desert sage:

I liked the Sage enough that I have an EH1 and an EH3 ordered as of 10am today for upcoming builds. The molded color only adds about 6-10oz on the EH series, per Matt @ MCS. I like this for the durability factor, and the stocks still come in right at the 2# mark which is 2.0-2.5# lighter than the T6a pictured, so all in all, I think its a fair trade off.

That Desert Sage DOES look much better in person than on the website! I went with a modified Forest to mimic the Desert Sage (40% Desert Sand 30% Coyote Tan and 30% OD Green) as it's just too light for my region. Regular forest is: 40 % Dark Earth 30% CoyoTan & 30% Desert Brown. I went with: 40 % Dark Earth 30% CoyoTan & 30% OD Green.

I won't be able to post pics until it arrives in September. :(

Here are the finished pictures, taken in Jon's driveway, of the 6.5cm all put together. These should give you a better idea of the Sage in real world light.

That looks great. I like some of the molded camos but My EH1 will just be a lowly one color stock, until I decide how I am going to camo it.

Do these stocks need to have air cure cerakote/durakote or can they be cooked? Is there a temperature that works but does not hurt the stock? I can ask Tom but thought some of you guys would know.

I've got a rager for the Mud Camo. I wish I would have waited for it rather than getting the Midnight Camo. Alas I could not pass up a good deal.

Without a "hijack" what about the woodland camo? It was a "toss up" between the Desert Sage and the Woodland. I went with the woodland since it had a base layer of OD, which is what my action is painted.
Any pics?

Damn Patrick, that is squared away! I really want a folder like that but I want to keep weight down. I don't suppose you know what that weighs as pictured? I'm thinking 90% CF with fluted 24" (similar contour) and TBAC 30BA for a 6.5SAUM build, just trying to keep weight down but maintain decent balance.
Thanks

Here is mine fresh off the UPS truck:

It is a modified Forest where I substituted OD green for brown. The percentages are:

Dark Earth = 40%
Coyote Tan = 30%
OD Green = 30%

The jacket is somewhere between foliage and ranger green. The grey card is a 20% and the white card is 100%. I did a slight color and exposure correction as it is quite overcast today here and the exposure was a touch too dark:

Off to the gunsmith for bedding work and next month to the Cerekoter for some tactical grey (slightly darker than the trigger guard). Thanks to Tom Manners for tracking the stock down and getting it to me quickly.

FINE looking Savage...and the stock ain't half bad too.

I'd be VERY curious to see it in various AOs...green grass, tall/tan grass, leaves, etc.

Are you actually interested in how the color scheme works or are you really just wanting me to post up a bunch of Savage porn for you? :)

It will be late Nov to Dec before I get the Cerekote completed and April before we see green leaves again. I'll take some photos over the Winter and again in the Spring though for you.
