Any guesses as to which stock would be lighter, assuming both were built with their carbon fiber option?

I've been inspired by Randy's " Walking Varmint " build, and would like to try a light-weight build myself.

I have a Remington 700 SA in 223 and 18" Bartlein in a Light Palma contour coming from Skunkworks. I want to try and minimize weight on the rest of the build.

On Manners site it lists both stocks as the same weight in their standard configuration, 2.6 lbs, and lists the T3 is 2.2 lbs when made in carbon fiber so I would assume the T2 would be about the same. Even the smaller T stock is only 2.1 lbs when made in carbon fiber.

Not much difference between all of them in weight but I would say the T and T3 would be a better all around stock with not having the more pronounced pistol grip or larger comb area. If I was going for a lighter weight carry gun it would have the T on it for the slimmer forend as well but I am a fan of the M40A1/HTG style stocks. I do have a couple of T3s as well which I really like.

    Thanks Rob.

Unfortunately I had a T3 stock for a while. For some reason, the grip area is too small and/or too short for me. The only comfortable position for my hand places it so far forward that the first knuckle of my trigger finger hits the bottom of the bolt handle, even with a standard Remington handle.

I don't have that problem with the more vertical style grip of the T2.

Do you think I'd have that problem with the M40A1/HTG stock?

Probably as the HTG grip is smaller than the T3. You should probably just go with the T2.
