Does anyone know if the inletting for Seekins option means it will work with the Seekins AICS-compatible SA DBM? Also, I have a Seekins SRS rail for my bipod and am wondering if that will work with the T5A.

I'd be interested in any general opinions on the stock too. My intention is to replace the stock on a Rem. 5R .308 with this one and do the bedding myself.

Re: Manners T5A questions

Another question: Molded-in finish...is it more durable vs. the painted finish? Either way I'm just going boring old coyote tan. Also, I'd assume the ArmourGrip is a worth the extra if I go with the molded-in finish.

Re: Manners T5A questions

Molded in will be more durable but their paint carries a lifetime warranty. If it gets too scratched up, send it back and they'll respray it for you.

As far as specific inletting, you'll need to call Manners and verify the inlet program they have is specifically for that DBM. I know seekins had a couple DBM's out at one time.

Iv'e been more than pleased with my T5-A and dealing with Tom.

Re: Manners T5A questions

The T5A is a great stock (the best in my opinion). I have 3 of them. The molded in finish is very nice if you like one of the color options. They aren't the best (colors), but it's just a color and doesn't really matter.

The rail will work, but you'll have to install it yourself obviously. You'll need to get some rail fasteners to do it right. The holes will need to be counter-sunk on the inside of the forearm. Be confident in your abilities or take it to someone who is. I know Triad has these on ther site for ~$5. I'm sure you could get some from Manners also.

If you can afford it, get the Manners mini chassis option built in and sell the Seekins DBM to cover the extra cost. The mini chassis takes AI mags and comes with a 5rd included. You can still bed it if you want, but there isn't a need to. I've had pure perfection from the minis I have and they are not bedded.

Correct,
With a internal chassis like the Manners mini chassis or the KMW IMB (integral mounting block), or the AICS system......there really isn't a need to bed the actions since its metal to metal contact over a large surface area. On the KMW model, Terry has even shot groups with only one action screw in place, one tighter, one not, one loose, one way over tightened, and had no reported change in accuracy.

Re: Manners T5A questions

I'll really have to consider that then. I like the Seekins button mag release, but not to have to do a bedding job would be worth the change.

Re: Manners T5A questions

My T5 ROCKS !! Next build is getting another. Did'nt know about the warranty on the paint and I own one. Now I'm even happier
