There are enough TCS stocks out and about now I'm wondering if anyone is having issues with magazine fitment. I jumped on the MDT BR mags when they first came out and absolutely love them. Ive tried a lot of BR mag combos but these MDT ones have fed 100% since I bought them. They will feed just fine in my TCS dasher, the problem is they are tight as hell going in and out. They will definitely not drop out when released. I have 2 mags and 2 TCS stocks. One mag is a little better but still not good. They function flawlessly with the exception of being hard to get in and out. Didnt have the issue in my MPA with these same mags and the few standard AICS mags I have pop in and drop out of the TCS with zero issue. Just curious if anyone else is having the same issue. Looks like I'll be mag shopping soon.

Well, some guys at my range run the MDT mags with manners stocks and mini chassis and they swear by them. So, I just ordered two for myself. I’ll follow back up once received and I’ve been able to field them.

FWIW I’ve heard mixed reviews on pretty much all mags. I think it’s hit or miss for whatever reason.

stamped metal tends to do that

Had an mdt mag that needed some sanding on the back to fit in a manners mini chassis. There were some stamp marks on the back lip of the mag at the top which made it tight. After sanding they work fine.

Forgot to update this thread. I ended up finding the same issue. Took my dremel to it and smoothed out a couple of raised spots where it was put together. Fits and falls back out like butter. Didnt have the issue with my other chassis these were used in but I guess the TCS mini chassis is just a little tighter. All good now.

Just picked up a TCS and have the MDT BR mags. I actually find they fit quite loose. My sample size is 2 mags but I've had no issues and they drop freely when I hit the mag release.

I picked up a Manners TCS and 2 Magpul AICS mags and they are both very hard to get seated and once seated they are loose a d rattle and rubbing on the bolt when I work it. Way to much contact I’m bout to just return these. I only opened one of the mags and it is so far from being a good fit I don’t want to open the others to test. Is this a known issue?

It’s not the magazines. It is the combination of the fit between the action, the chassis, the mag catch, and the magazine. The tolerances are wide enough that it’s easy to encounter problems. I have one mag catch for MDT BR mags in my TCS and one for the regular AICS mags.

Just received my tcs the other day mounted my Curtis vector in it and the mag catch is brutal on mine. 100% will not accept Magpul aics mags without some catch modification. Seems to do well with my arc mags and my ai aics mag. Once the mags are in though most of the time it doesn’t want to release the magazines. Also the 5 round accurate mag that shipped with it is a no go sits to high and contacts the bolt to much. Looks like I’ll be shooting with ai aics mags or arc’s don’t really see a need to have multiple mag catches just to run Magpul aics mags. Also my mags all super tight fitting side to side and front to back clearance.

I took a little off the accurate mag where it contacts the action and it works like butter now. My ARC mags with the LRI follower are flawless as is. There is definitely some variance between mag manufacturers.

You guys with additional mag catches, did you get them straight from Manners? I’ve got a buddy with some similar issues.
Yes. I think I sent an email and Tom Manners called me a few hours later. I think he is extremely dedicated to having good customer service but the company as a whole is not always perfect about answering emails and such.

He sent an email to Robert and is waiting to hear back. That is an awesome dude and we were lucky to squad with him at a local match several months ago.

I was just curious about the extra parts but have no doubts they’ll get him squared away.

I had contacted manners about an origin in a new TCS. One MDT metal mag clicks in and drops free. Several pmags are almost impossible to run the bolt for rubbing on the top of the magazine, and the accurate mag that came with the stock take two hands to seat in the mag well. All of these mags fit and function without issue in my other bolt action. Their suggestion was to punch out the mag catch and trim it. It would be nice to know how easy it would be to get a replacement if I modify mine and continue to have issues.
