I would like to run a question by the board for some opinions. I am considering buying a T3X CTR in 6.5 CM and was going to mount it in a Cadex chassis. Recently I have started looking into the new Manners stock for the T3X and CTR chassis as an alternative. There are obvious visual differences between the systems but what real world experiences can you guys share?

    Thanks in advance.

I sold a Manners T6A for a Cadex field comp. The manners was an excellent stock, definitely top of line. The adjustability and pure comfort behind the Cadex sold me on the move. I really like the adjustable butt pad, perfect fit for every position in seconds. The chassis runs really well for me on multiple positions, barricades, logs, railings, tripods. My only complaint at the moment is with the move to direct mount tripods, I need to find an arca-Swiss rail that works with the tube.

Warning: Bias post around the corner:  Ha Ha. I am the Cadex dealer here, so use that filter. Manners is a very solid platform and has worked well for years. Much like an old farm tractor. Cadex, in my biased opinion, is the best technology and the latest in chassis engineering. Aside from being a perfect piece of art when you receive it, the three-way roller bedding is perfection. No bedding compound needed.

Really the ability to remove a barreled action with handtools and put a new one if you want. I would still recommend a great gunsmith to true and mount your barrel to your action, and to the chassis, but once done, you could have several barreled actions to swap-out if neeed on one platform.

Cadex also offers four foundations to build upon to meet the needs of any caliber shooter, and any budget. Ping me if you want more info or a price. We do offer very generous 'hide discounts, which I believe makes us the price leader, in addition to contributing here online. ;)

    Thanks all.

I will look more closely at the JAE chassis.

Great food for thought and as always the Hide provides great feedback.

Ive been looking for one as well for my Cadex and I think this will work well. Henderson Precision just came out with a universal arca rail that uses 10/32 screws, same as the Cadex rail screws in 10 or 12 in lengths.

My answer is that it depends on your intent. If you are going to be shooting off a lot of bags the rounder ends of most chassis guns (for me) do not offer the same stability as a manners T4/mcmillan A4/5/3. If not then the chassis rear ends offer the most comfortable and most adjustable experience you will get. The tube fronts typically found on chassis systems do offer a lower bore over bipod which lessens the bulk and gives a bit more stability off a bipod.

Ive used both types a lot and the KRG whiskey3, krg xray and xlr element/envy offer the best of both worlds with the whiskey 3 being my favorite. Fat front for bag/obstacle work and chassis rear for adjustability.

Both can be shot well with practice...just has been my experiences and what I've come to label as pros/cons.

I sold my Cadex comp and bought a second Jae700. Depends on what you want it for, if you’re going to shoot prs the jae is well worth the extra cash! The adjustability well surpasses cadex and manners!

I’ve always been curious about the Jae chassis. Is it fairly rapid to adjust things??

Some, such as the cheek piece are fairly quick, but you are not going to want to be adjusting things on the fly while on the clock.

How "rapid" do you need the adjustments to be? Once I get my chassis' dialed in, they don't need to be touched. The nice thing about the JAE chassis', is that the adjustments are solidly locked in place once you are done adjusting. Unlike my McMillan A5 cheek pieces which like to continually slide down throughout the day...

I currently have all 3, and I’d agree with most on here. I’d rank them as follows:

    1. JAE
    2. Cadex
    3. Manners.

All super awesome platforms, but that JAE chassis is just flat ass amazing! Super comfortable, adjustable, and just damn sexy! Just my opinion though.

Really the only thing I'm looking for to be "rapid" is the butt pad. I've gotten used to the Cadex, being able to unlock and slide up or down depending on the position I'm shooting. Everything else hasn't been touched once dialed in. I know it's not really THAT big of deal, but like I mentioned, I've gotten used to it and maybe a bit spoiled by it. It seemed like I was fighting the manners transitioning between prone to whatever supported position vs the cadex where I had perfect fit for everything.

No, it's not rapid. You have to remove 2 Allen screws to add or remove spacers.

I've personally never found a need to have a rapid butt adjustment. Not for prone, barricades, off hand, support side shooting have I needed it.

If "rapid" adjustment of the LOP is a necessity, than the JAE is not for you. Which is a shame, as it is one of the best chassis designs out there IMO. Not to mention the CS is outstanding, and the quality of the manufacturing of the chassis is pretty much second to none.

The new Manners has a really slick lop adjustment. Im not sure on this stock but they are also able to add on the Ingenuity rail setup if thats your cup of tea.

I have one of the first LA JAE's. I like it, its truly high quality and thought out, but I was giving up easy adjust-ability going form me to my wife. Thats where chassis usually shine. The new manners just closed that gap though..

That is a very nice stock but not compatible with the Tikka action.
