for the bedding i use whatever is availible the cheapest wether that be Marine Tex or Devcon steel putty. I find the cheapest and in stock and rock whichever one i can.

+1 on the Devcon. MarineTex doesn't maintain its integrity over time. Becomes flaky as the filler used in MarineTex is gypsum....

+1 Marinetex is also self leveling and has a tendency to run out or settle out. I'll never use Marinetex again.
