Third time I've seen it and I have to say the congressman's spokes-person, claiming Mr. Johnson was merely joking, suggests this man is among our nation's finest actors.
I saw an imbecile talking to an extremely patient Pentagon official. Little did I suspect it was, in reality, brilliant acting. The performance was so profund that I have to say the congressman has now typecast himself as an imbecile, much like Bob Denver will always be Gilligan.

I can't help wondering if the idiot congressman knows that Marines, Soldiers, Air corps and Navy were there in much "heavier" numbers(from two opposing nations), previously without so much as a bilge issue, let alone capsizing...though I understand it got quite noisy, bloody and environmentally insensitive.

Yea, I can see that happening. Just like if the combined populations of India and China all copulated at the same time which would result in the earth being bumped out of its orbit around the sun. This in turn would lead to extreme global cooling and the end of life as we know it.

I think that Navy officer displayed remarkable composure in not breaking out in laughter. I think he deserves a Navy Achievement Medal.

So what the background to the story? What base 8000 Marines on Guam in the first place? Are American bases in Japan being reduced, or is it simply so the marines are handy if trouble kicks off with the NORK's?

I know a good number of ANG guys in Guam and a few Navy dudes. They all said the same thing: "More Marines means less women to go around. Since no one likes a sausage fest, tell them to stay in San Diego!" Needless to say I was laughing my ass off. Man, must be a tough life living it up in Guam!

Ahhh, shit, why am I still laughing!? I can't think of anywhere that has ever held 8,000 Marines at one time unless it was outside of Iraq a while back. I really don't think anyone or anything could control that many Marines in one place without incident. Some types are just that close to being out of control as it is, and when that many are present, wow, just cannot think of the collateral damage to the party that would happen!

Johnson is indeed the representative who serves - and I use the term loosely, somewhat in the sense that a bull serves a cow - the same district in Georgia which elected Cynthia McKinney.

Look; they all serve a useful purpose, even the Bozos. In their case it's to voice the utterances that undeniably remind us that morons are still amongst us, and that it seldom pays to let one's guard down and put one's trust in governments, nor in th people who elect such Bozos. Within our borders, idiocy is rampant. I don't completely dismiss immigration; there's bound to be at least a few smart ones imbedded within the flow, and that can only do us good in these times.
