Rifle Scopes Mark 4 2.5-8x36 turret question

I purchased a used Mark 4 2.5-8x36 Leupold scope and want to know how the caliber marked M2 turrets work? The scope came with the 7.62 turret and I am using it on a 5.56 AR, does this matter and what do I gain if I get the 5.56 marked turret cap? I downloaded the manuals for this scope but it didn't say anything.

Agreed BDC sucks, I think these aren't but then why did Leupold put 7.62 168 on them. They have the normal hashes for clicks, I will verify once at the range like you said. Thanks

Its probably got MOA spacings but numbers marked somewhere in regards to 168gr 308.

You are right, I didn't notice them had to get my glasses. At the top there are numbers makes sense now. It wouldn't hurt to try and find the 5.56 turret cap and have both.

I have an old mk4 with the M3 turrets, 1 click is 1 MOA (reticle is the classic mil dot). It came on a used MK12 upper I purchased a while ago. Not great for being precise, but I'm guessing they designed this to get you on minute of human sized targets quickly?

My AR is MK12'ish with an 18" barrel. If it doesn't cost a lot I will prolly get one
