Looking at the Leupold website, I can't figure out what the height of their rings are in relation to the centerline of the scope and the surface of the base.
I'm trying to mount a Leupold VX-3L 4.5-14 (40mm obj,30mm tube) on top of an AR15 being set up for hunting. This will be a dedicated optics gun, and I want the scope as low as possible.
My son has a similar rifle with a WOTAC 12x44 on it in an Armalite mount which is just a tad under 1.3" (center of tube to base). I'd like to get something low like that so that the standard A2 stock will afford a good cheek weld.
I know an Armalite base like my son has will work, but I was looking for a cleaner (and maybe lighter) set up. I'm not a huge fan of the thumb screws for the Armalite either.
I already tried an LT-104, and it just seemed to set a bit high for my taste. That same mount on another rifle with a PRS stock isn't an issue, but then again the cheekrest is adjusted up.
Any help would be appreciated.
