In my version of the Exbal program, there isn't a selection for the Leupold Mil-Ranging reticle. I'm trying to find a reticle that matches up with the ten hash marks below the center crosshair so I can use the "Point Blank" function.

The Mil-radian Nightforce won't work, the Burris ballistic MIl dot won't work, the closest I could find is the Nightforce MLR reticle. However, when I went to Nightforce's web site, it doesn't specify if the reticle is based on a variation of MOA, Inches, or the Mil system.

If anyone knows if there is a reticle that will match up for me, that would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

Re: Matching reticle with Exbal program

are you serious...........lemme see point blank in by book or palm is dependent on boolit selection ......but pretty much zero to 300yd is point blank.....don't ya think?

Re: Matching reticle with Exbal program

I guess I didn't explain well what I was looking for. I realize that the bullet selection, sectional density, MET/ENV and so on all effect the trajectory..that isn't what I'm asking.

What I'm trying to find out is which reticle in the exbal program's reticle selection menu will match up with Leupold's TMR reticle. Perhaps there isn't a reticle that will match up with the TMR reticle, but I suspect that there is.

In the exbal program, the various reticles can be matched up with the bullet's trajectory thereby giving impact points for each of the demarkations in the reticle.

If you have reticle matched up correctly, you get something like this:
X-hair =100 yards
bar 1 =197 yards
bar 2 =248 yards
bar 3 =359 yards
bar 4 =426 yards
and so on depending on how many bars are in the reticle.

The Leupold TMR reticle has 10 bars. The bars are every Mil and half mil. A mil dot reticle will only give me 5 of the 10 points. A couple of the Nightforce reticles have 10 or more horizontal marks under the crosshair, but Nightforce's reticle detail page only gives an explanation of the distance represented by one of the reticles, and it is based on inches, not Mils.

The exbal program does have a different section where you can enter the size of the target (4,6,8 inch and so on) and the program will give you the true point blank info for hitting that target size. For example, a 4 inch target could be hit between x+3, or x-5 yards with a center hold. That isn't the information I'm looking for. I'm trying to get the actual impact points for the marks in my scope's reticle.

So, yes, I am serious, but I'm guessing that my initial posting didn't explain adequately explain the information I was looking for. Hopefully, this additional information will help out.

Which reticle in the exbal program's reticle menu selection matches the Leupold TMR reticle?

Re: Matching reticle with Exbal program

Hoosier,

YIPPEE!!!! THANKS, That is the info I was looking for. My Leupold TMR reticle is the same, so they will match up perfectly. Let me know if I can help you out and return the favor. If you want something run through the exbal program, send me an email, or PM and I'll run the data, give you drop in inches, mils, cm, clicks, and can also enter your reticle to get point blank impact for all the spots in your reticle.
