I have some questions for you MaTen guys. I currently have a Aero precision lower, with armalight NM upper, JP freefloat, A2 stock, and NM trigger group. Good setup (not too heavy), cut 6" off the barrel. I would like to keep all my parts I have currently but upgrade to a DPMS mag system (mainly to use the PMAGS). I have read on thier sight
http://megamachineshop.com/ma-ten-compatibility.php#intro
"Designed to accept any AR style .308 barrels and bolts*. This means you can use your AR10/Noveske or SR25/DPMS components."

I can basically swap all my parts over to this new lower and upper combo.

My question is with all this shit I am writing is this:
What parts do I need to change/add to make this work. I read the armalight barrel nut will not work?
Thanks for the help...

Correct; you will need a DPMS pattern barrel nut that goes with your hand guard. You will also need a DPMS .308 bolt catch. Other than that, the lower will accept 99% of regular AR-15 parts.

Re: MaTen parts Compatibility

I would assume so, but I can't say for sure as I'm running daniel defense rails. I'm sure a quick email or phone call to JP would clarify for you.

Apparently some guys have had trouble with bolt catches sticking with 308 bolt catches. You may or may not require some fitting. I stuck with a regular AR15 bolt catch and it works fine so far.

You may just have to get a new barrel nut. I'd call JP just to make sure, they're normally really helpful over there.

Re: MaTen parts Compatibility

I'm running a Phase 5 Tactical 308 bolt release and it fits perfect. If anything, its actually a little bit loose, so I think they may have fixed the problem you are speaking of. I'm pretty sure the 308 bolt catch is bigger than the AR15 one, but if either one works, then to each his own.

Re: MaTen parts Compatibility

I use the Phase 5 EBR latch on mine. Running a BAD Lever on my SBR has made it muscle memory that I needed to get one. Plus the bolt catch in the Fulton kit I came with just seemed to not have enough area to use effeciently. The EBR latch works aweesome.

It is, however it is not compatible with the Armalite bolt catch, and I have read that you need the DPMS 308 bolt catch. Even if the AR-15 bolt catch works, I would still rather have the DPMS 308 bolt catch because it has more surface area.

Re: MaTen parts Compatibility

Run either an AR-15 bolt catch or a Phase5(though this may require a little bit of fitting). The handguard needs to be DPMS/SR25 compatible. Since JP's handguard is available in both patterns, maybe you'll just need the DPMS nut. Barrel extension can be either AR-10 or DPMS pattern.
