I bought a Triad Tactical strap-on stock pack to raise my cheek-weld position. This particular stock pack has the velcro loops under the entire bottom side, so velcro hook material can be placed anywhere. What would be the best way to raise the stock pack height so I can get a cheek weld that puts my vision in-line with my optic?

I've used cut up mouse pads too. If that is not enough, cut a piece of 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 pvc. in half, grind the sharp edges down and put mouse pad strips on top of that. I've gotten almost 1/2" that way.

+ 1 for mouse pads. Cut into two inch strips, stack them to create the needed hight. Then shoe goo them all together, and finally shoe goo a strip of hook velcro to the top of your stack to attach to the inside of your stock pad... It will be rock solid

That sounds very promising. Put a piece of self-adhesive velcro on it and it'd be solid as Sears. Thanks for ALL the ideas gentlemen!

Re: Material to raise strap-on cheek pad

here is something others have mentioned. use layers of velcro. they come in strips with sticky on the back. its already velcro so you dont need to get velcro to stick to it. layer after layer stuck together. stick sticky side to sticky side. comes in a roll or strips

Had some real dense closed cell foam laying around. Shaped the outside with a turkey carver and then used a dremel to cut out a channel to sit over the stock. Doesn't move at all with the pack strapped down on it.

I am in the folded towel camp. Here it is held with wide painters tape.

This worked well for me; the black pipe foam. I cut the round in half, then superglued the two halves on top of each other. Finally, I shaved the sides to with a box cutter to get a more uniform shape. Seems to work quite well so far. I have that setup on two of my bolt guns now.

I use the foam from the sleeping mats. Glue a couple of the .33 inch thicknesses together, then cut and even use a wood rasp to carve it to shape. The wood rasp makes foam dust all over the place, but it really does shape the piece of foam well.

Mouse pads sounds like a great idea. They're cheap, durable, and already have a fabric backing. I will probably do that.

Before I read that I would have suggested going to your local SCUBA shop and getting a small piece of 7mm wetsuit patch.

They have glue on them

You can buy strips, spots and all sorts.
Quite a soft glue so it's easy to remove but if you use solvent to remove it you may end up with a mark on wood finishes.

Myself and a buddy have done this as well. It works very well.
