Matrix Pro Buttstock Problems

Has anyone else had problems with their buttstock repeatedly coming loose on their Matrix chassis? I’ve tried locktite and it still comes loose. It’s been going on for a couple years.

You talking about the whole butt area that’s attached with the screw behind the grip? Did you put it together yourself or did it come together from MPA?

Yeah that screw and the one under the grip are always coming loose. I’m pretty sure it came assembled.

Give them a call. I have had 5 of the pros and no issues with those coming loose and all but one were second hand.

There is no way it's coming loose if you properly clean/degrease with red and torque to spec.

I have 6 Matrix Pro chassis and none are loose. All were purchased either from MPA or EuroOptic. Definitely clean and degrease both the screw threads and internal threads. Then apply red loctite. Torque to spec. That should fix it.

I had a gen 1 matrix that would do this periodically. If I remember correctly, there was a screw that was visible and another that was under the grip….which was actually the critical screw. I never tried anything beyond taking it apart, cleaning and re-torquing, to make it stop. I never let it get “loose” and never noticed a change in shooting but when I noticed a flex as I held it, I would take the grip off and tighten everything down. My pro II doesn’t seem to have the same problem.
