Surely some of you fellas might be carrying one of these bags? I was looking to get some feedback, actual pictures, anything else pertinent. I have read lots of online reviews, but frankly you never know. You guys are straight shooters on this kind of stuff so I thought I would ask!

I am looking at setting up an EDC type bag (man-purse) and really like the idea of the pack slinging around to the front! I don't want it to be too big, but not too small either. Needs to be able to carry a full size handgun & spare mags. Spare mags for IWB gun, medium sized fixed blade, small med kit, flash light of some sort (still gotta figure out what I want for this) and some standard misc survival type gear etc etc

I really like the gearslinger line as they seem the ticket, but then not sure which one would be the best option. The Malaga & the Sitka are what I keep coming back to though. Hard to tell the size differences. They are not cheap and I don't know of anywhere in the area locally to be able to go see them in person.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Maxpedition Gearslingers??

I got the Kodiak as a sort of day pack. It's supposed to be one of the biggest of the gearslingers (if not the biggest, though they may have just come out with bigger ones) but it's really not all that large. Plenty of room for whatever you want. I've been using it for overnight trips where I can carry a change of clothing, laptop, handgun, and some miscellaneous items. All of the Maxpedition stuff is great and, to me, worth the money paid. My MPB has literally been around the world with me and used pretty much every day for five years and is still in great condition.

Thanks for the review! The Kodiak looks nice but a bit too big for my needs. I am afraid if I go too big I will end up not carrying it!

Re: Maxpedition Gearslingers??

I was just going to post about the maxpedition gear - I'm looking at a sling pack for my hunting pack. My backpack has become cumbersome and ill fitting lately. I have an oddly long torso so the waist straps on my packs don't quite line up and well...i was thinking if i whittle down the amount of gear I carry and stick in in a sling pack I might be a bit more comfortable.

Thanks for the TU on the Maxpedition pack quality.
