"The closest he came to combat was ferrying other staffers around in an SUV: In his campaign kickoff speech last April he referred to ‘119 trips I took outside the wire, driving or guarding a vehicle.’ That’s a strange thing to count. Combat sorties in an F-18 are carefully logged. Driving a car isn’t."

He isn’t the first vet to embellish his service and he definitely won’t be the last. All he needs now are some shitty tats, a patchy beard, an Operator AF IG account, and a weird love for overpriced coffee and American flag infidel t shirts.

EDIT:
Once he starts checking those boxes, he’ll win over the BroVets regardless of his policies.

On a serious note, others have pointed out that at least he served. That does count for something but it isn’t a free pass for a vote. As long as they don’t push that card for him, then it’s cool. Let him have his convoy ops or FOB runs. That’s more than most do these days and it’s something that those who have never done em lie about doing (for some reason). Everyone who has served, has moto pics in kit. You obviously can’t have a vet exist without posting a kit pic lol.

As for the homophobic comments, that shit just ain’t needed, regardless of his political views. But that’s just my opinion. ??

EDIT TO THE EDIT:
My comments don’t mean I support his candidacy. I don’t, just saying lol.

From the article:

“As U.S. Marines Greg Kelly and Katie Horgan write in the Wall Street Journal, however, veterans often “roll their eyes” when Buttigieg talks of his time in the Navy. Kelly and Horgan note Buttigieg jumped on the fast-track to becoming a military officer through a direct commission in the reserves, circumventing the years of intense training and preparation that most must go through to achieve such a status.

“Mr. Buttigieg skipped all that—no obstacle courses, no weapons training, no evaluation of his ability or willingness to lead,” the Marines write. “Paperwork, a health exam and a background check were all it took to make him a naval officer.”

While I don't like the guy I will say at least he did serve if he is making it sound like more than he is a socialist he raised his tiny little hands on the debate stage for every crazy plan that forced taxpayers to foot the bill for illegals not to mention opening up the border and letting the world masses flood on in regardless he is not Audie Murphy regardless he did his time and served . and picking on him in that was is the shit that the dimacrats would do not something I would especially when there are so many real valid things to pick on him for his support of bringing socialism to this country for one is unthinkable not that it was not here already for a long time now , his push to remove the 2nd admendment is another i cannot support .

Meh, he served, lets not argue degrees of service, few of us would have much to speak of other than we were there.

Checking the Randall catalog for that knife, not finding it.

Like Pete.....close but no cigar, wait is that a cigar?

I would never ever disparage someone for serving. The military runs on its stomach (or so they say). If someone was a cook in the military, be proud of it. Mechanic the same. Every job is important but not all are glamorous.

The issue is when someone claims more than they actually did. Or try's to embellish/stretch the truth for personal gain.

I was on 24 campfire the other day looking around and saw similar comments. I wondered to myself how many of those commenting were real over achievers who’s only community service was flipping burgers at the July 4 bbq. The same types who resent having to sort the plastic from the glass when they recycle, b/c it’s the government telling them what to do.

Then they gripe about direct commissions. God forbid you appoint a Rhode Scholar and Harvard graduate to the military in order to serve our country. We should only commission podunk college graduates with 2.75 GPAs who can smoke the PT test b/c everyone knows they have the intellectual firepower to handle the analytical requirements of a military intelligence officer.

24 Hour Campfire is a very entertaining site, but having an actual discussion with the majority of them is next to impossible due to them being VERY socially inept. And no, this isn't a Boomer vs Millennial type of thing, it's the harsh truth about them. My theory is they're the type who wanna be "off the grid" which on paper seems fine, but the problem is that we as human beings are social creatures by nature and we NEED interaction with other humans or else we will descend into developing cabin fever. It's very apparent that my theory is 99% correct because just look at so many angry men posting over there. Being that angry and irritable for no reason whatsoever is the sign cabin fever is setting in. And don't even get me started on the weird autistic drama they try to start and then forget where they wanna go with it. Then again these are the same people who still believe a fucking April Fools joke I played on them like a decade ago to be true.

How do you know he doesn't doggy style?

Mayor Buttplug seems to be more on the sensitive side soft spoken, I don't see him doing it doggy style and letting the semen run out of him.

He might be top, otherwise he would be running as first female Pres.

All joking aside I would never disparaged anyone's service, when you sign up your putting your life on the line no matter what you do for the Military because you may one day be on a front line. You signed up to protect the rest of us and anyone who doesn't realize that shouldn't be offered that protection.

Now what disgust me is Senator Richard Blumenthal who used stolen Valor to get his political position. Claim he was Rambo killing gooks in Vietnam when he was actually refilling tampon dispensers state side in federal parks. That's as close as he came to having blood on his hands.

Did I ever tell you about the time I was riding with Lt. Patton when we were chasing Pancho Villa? "Now those were heady times. I remember when Georgie and I, (I always called him Georgie), were outnumbered 30 to one and here we were with just 3 Colt single action army pistols between us. We were surrounded...." ?

Oh, by the way, I was a flying crew Chief, in other words, a glorified mechanic.

He's so OAF he doesn't even need the rear sight.
Be careful how you say "rear sight" around him though.

View attachment 7249145

He's got a rear sight, it's looks like a 300m Matech. Generally rifles issued to POGs and officer POGs had a carry handle. In these configurations, the rifle is meant for personal protection, like a PDW, not as a, well, a weapon intended to be used. Leave it to POG officers though to score a brand new rifle with shit he doesn't need and missing shit he does. An M4A2 w/carry handle would be more useful.

On the other hand, he could have his optic in his pocket --you know, Larue return to zero and all. High speed operators always remove their site behind the wire in order to preserve optical quality. You know that. I know Buffalo does.

The knife handle is the color of the Afghan flag worn by the ANA, Afghan National Army.

Yeah, I can see reasons for him carrying that knife. IF he dealt with the locals and it was gifted to him sorta thing. But pretty sure this tool bought it from some kid --and then proceeded to integrate it into his gear. Since he won't be using it I guess he has no worry of it breaking...

Oh look. A guy with a centerfire auto/semi auto rifle telling people they cant have semi auto rifles. Thats cute.

Yeah... That's the problem with not being represented today. They work for the party. They can't be trusted and our government is broken. Disarming the people is what every government does that has an "us vs. them" relationship with the people. Make no mistake, they don't work for us. And disarming the people is only first step, whatever comes next is what worries me. This ain't UK or NZ or Australia where disarming the people was the end in and of itself. Here it's just a means to an end.

IMO that end is probably to ensure they can institute total control or martial law effectively in the event of the next bailout, where it'll be US that get to pay for it, at least that's the way they intend it to go, so that'd be the end of SS checks and VA benefits. And that money belongs to us, with SS we paid into that for years, you ain't taking it now and just calling it even without a war. Hence the big gun grabs all of a sudden. All picked up double time after Dodd-Frank, notice that? Maybe I'm full of shit but these fuckers have a record and that fits it well.

Putting Mayor Butterjizz aside for a moment, I personally am getting sick of the word "hero" just liberally being thrown around based on someone's job alone. Not all soldiers are heros. Not all cops are heros. Not all firefighters are heros. The definition of a classic hero is someone who dies for the honor and well being of others. Not saying you have to die to be a hero, but unless you're risking your own life to save the lives of others, you're not a hero just by your job alone! It's your actions that make you a hero, not your occupation.
