Re: mcm a4 vs. hs pst035
I have the A5 and PST035.
The ergonomics of the A5 I like better, when I got behind it the first time very natural pointing.
The A5 feels more solid, better quality construction, just feels different in a good way.
The swivel studs on my PST035 became very lose.
I like the ruff texture feel on the PST035 better, in the cold and damp and with sweaty hands, just easier to grip.
The recoil pad of the PST was very hard and slick, I swapped it out for a LimbSaver and while having it off glued in 1800 steel BBs to add weight. I should have had a LimbSaver installed on my A5, while the factory pad is better than the HS Uncle Mikes, LimbSaver is what I prefer.
I liked the fact that the HS took a couple days less than 4 weeks from phone call to my door. The HS alum block afforded drop in ease over the pillars and fitting for the Mc but....my Remmy 700 had the XMark trigger and its wider with an axle poking out and would not go into the HS hitting on the alum block. 10 mins with a Dremel and it fit perfect. When I called HS, I was informed I did not tell them I had the new XMark trigger nor did they ask.
I would go the same route plan again. With my off the shelf 700 wanting to get it guccied quickly I would still go with HS. Later date I would order the Mc and then sale my HS when the Mc arrived. What I ended up doing though was two rifles.
