Yet another boring topic! Throw me a bone though, my black on Forest stocked rifle is so plain it pains me to look at it. I will be having a muzzle brake soon (edit- Badger thruster on the way) since I cant shoot it for shit, figured the action could use a little duracoat as well... The question is, what colors look best with the forest stocks besides black? I think I have come accross maybe one with OD and it wasnt a very good picture.

Any opinions? Maybe pictures of some rifles wearing Mcmillan forest stocks that dont have black actions? Thanks

Before someone mentions it, I went into this "build" to be pretty, my krylon cans wont be touching her!

How selfish of me, requesting pictures and help without sharing. This is my 300WM budget build gone horribly wrong...

Anyone tonight with input or pictures, preferably duracoat. I think I'll leave the pink in my daughters room haha(was my store shit and clean guns room, what a thief...)

Its a tough call, and im being a pussy about it. I just dont want to do it without seeing a couple pictures so I know it will look good... Maybe someone here in the next few days will help us out!

Re: McMillan forest stocks: need action color help

JML,

I have a Forrest Camo stock and I'm thinking Milspec OD. To me it looks a lot like a Parkerized finish and blends well with most camo color schemes. I've used it with GAP and Desert camo so far and they both look good IMHO.

By the way - I like your stick so far!

Gap sure does know how to build a rifle. Very nice. I guess OD cant look too terrible on woodland, I guess I'll stop being a puss and find out for myself. Hopefully Triad can come up with a few Thruster's tomorrow.

I was going to wait for a range day to post up pictures but Northern Virginia thinks it's Alaska right now, and no let up on the snow anytime soon. So here it is in the kitchen. It looks a little better in natural light.

Budget build gone horribly wrong? Are you kidding?! I think it looks fantastic! I'm in wait mode right now as my Remington 700 SPS Tactical has been sent off to the gunsmith for a complete overhaul and I've been mulling over which McMillan stock to go with, more specifically which camo pattern. Your build has me convinced Forest Camo is a great option. I plan to do the Duracoat the action and barrel ( I do that on the side as a hobby for people ) and I'm thinking of either Tactical Desert Brown or OD Green. Great job on your build!
