Hi everyone. Im new to the forum and got a few qeustions if anyone can help me. Im getting the Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .308 and want to order a McMillan A4 stock for it. Its got an 26" bull barrel and are 0.82" at muzzle. Im going to order the spacer system and saddle cheeckpiece. Going to ad the machined in pillars and full length solid glass fill the stock to make it as heavy as possable. The stock will be molded in marble finish with 60% black and 30% grey and 10% white. Got an Nightforce 8-32 x 56 scope.

1. Want to know what stud i should put on the order form for a Harris bi pod? I wont add a sling to the rifle.

2. Does anybody know how this spesific finish wil look on the stock? Does anyone have some pictures more or less?

3. And how high should the rail and scope rings be, so that the objective will be clear of the barrel?

2. Does anybody know how this spesific finish wil look on the stock? Does anyone have some pictures more or less? This is my A5, the colors should be close. It is 50/50 black and grey

3. And how high should the rail and scope rings be, so that the objective will be clear of the barrel? The factory varmint contour on the Remingtons go are not that heavy when compared to most tact builds, MTU,M24 etc. Most likely a set of lows will work but.... With that said,it's going to determine on what scope you decide to use and to a certain extent the brand of rings as they will vary in height between makes. Try a 20 MOA base of your choice if planning on stretching the distance.

I have a Rem 5R that probably has the same or similar contour. I use a Nightforce 5.5-22x50 so slightly smaller bell. I use a Seekins 20 MOA base and Seekins medium rings and my bell is just off the barrel. Yours objective is 56mm so you would probably need at least medium high if not high rings. In addition you only have 65 MOA adjustment and may need higher base if you take it out very far...
