I have an A5 on a rem 700 and have shot it for a few years. It does NOT have an adjustable cheekpiece.

When lying in prone if I relax my head tips forward and I end up looking at the back of the bolt instead of through the scope. (Like when I am doing NPOA checks or on the firing line for a long time)

Does this mean my cheekpiece is too low or that I have incorrect form? I am getting ready to buy a new stock and am trying to decide it I need a cheek piece that adjusts.

Thanks

Too low.

Adjustable cheek piece stocks are good and bad. Good that you can adjust it for any given shooting position, bad that you need to readjust it for changing shooting positions.

Have not had enough experience with prone to say yay or nay, but I typically plan for the worst and in this case would get the adjustable head rest. Don't know if an adjustable head rest would help the stock sell faster if you ever decide to sell also...

Of course you can also get a non-adjustable, and should you find you need it higher, put a Karsten on at a cheaper price than factory. Some people may not like the Karsten "look" and would rather go factory, so whatever floats your boat.
