Gunsmithing McMillian M1A

My McMillan M1A stock has the 2 front inserts for the sling swivel installed by who knows and they are on an angle and look real half assed. I purchased this as new from a private party. the front ferrule was installed and is okay but these two threaded inserts in the forearm need to be moved. is this hard to do or should i send this to mcmillan? also I called them and they told me they do not install these on their stocks? Thanks

I just did not get the part where he told me we dont install these? Maybe they magically appeared there? WTF
