Mcree discounts

They earned a pretty bad reputation, when they started the threats of lawsuits for people buying other chassis with levels built in. So I dont think you are going to get much love for McRee around here. BUT I have been wrong in the past and things do blow over.

"We do not intend or are we planning on taking legal action against the individual consumer, any rumors or statements to this effect are generated by persons not affiliated with our company. "

followed by

"If you Manufacture/Produce, Advertise, Distribute/Purchase a chassis/rifle with an embedded cant indicator level from a source other than McRee's Precision or an authorized dealer for McRee's Precision, it is not authorized by McRee's and you may be liable for infringing McRee's Patents. If you infringe McRee's Patents, you may be responsible for paying money damages, your conduct may be enjoined, and you may even be required to pay McRee's attorney fees."

I get that they probably have a lawyer, and that lawyer told them to put that statement on their website but people don't take kindly to someone releasing a threatening statement even if it is preceded with them saying they are not going to act on it with regards to individual customers.

I mean nothing is going to be perfect on the rifle, the odds that the chassis bubble level is going to line up perfectly to the scope reticle is not great, I personally would rather use a bubble level on the scope that I can true perfectly to the reticle. Basically what I am trying to say is that MPA would still be the standard chassis even if they removed their bubble level.

Yeah the lawsuit thing left a bad taste in people's mouth, including mine. But they make a solid product. Thing is, for me, Id rather have an XLR, MPA, Magpul Pro, or KRG. Even if bubble levels were never invented. Even if bubbles did not exist. The result for me would be the same.

Also, id like to second what Raining said. I actually prefer not to have a bubble in my chassis. It doesnt always line up right anyways. I prefer a level on my scope that I can true to my individual set up. Ive owned three MPA chassis. One level was totally true, another was very close, and one level was completely off. Id rather just not deal with built-in levels and have em' take 10 bucks off the total price.

I called McRee the other day and spoke with Scott Mcree as he answered the telephone. Seemed like a decent guy to me. Answered all of my questions. They are having what appears to be a holiday sale and the stock I'm interested among others is discounted $160 right now.

Looking past all that legal stuff, McRee makes good stuff. They also have great customer service which some other companies unfortunately don’t offer. As WT1 stated above about Scott himself answering the phone when he called and will answer any and all questions you may have.
