Just got my MDR and have yet to shoot it but tried to cycle live rounds through it and they don't go back far enough to enter the shoot and eject properly. Has anyone else seen this issue? Rounds are loaded to mag length 2.82" and cycle fine in my AR10s. 178 amax.

Not sure what you're asking. Are you trying to eject live rounds? They are not entering the ejection port cover I'm guessing?
It takes a pretty good pull on the cocking handle to push the round over the detent into the ejection port cover. You have to pull the handle all the way back as well. The bolt will push the round out of the front of the cover when you let it go forward. If you remove the cover it will be ejected straight out the side. Its a good way to see whats going on too. Push forward on the release at the rear of the cover and lift the back end up to remove. Once the rear end is clear you can pull it back and off the rifle. Have a look inside while operating the action and maybe you'll see whats going on.

Correct trying to eject live rounds. They are not being pushed by the scissor mechanism hard enough to enter the chute. I'll try pulling it back with some pretty good force to see if that makes a difference when I get home. Thanks for the heads up. It ejects live rounds just fine with the chute removed FYI

So update. I filed down the part of the ejection chute that clamps down on the brass and it fixed all the problems. Turns out it’s slightly too big to fit brass consistently. 2 minutes with a file and it’s flawless now.

I had to do that with mine also to be able to eject live rounds by hand with anything resembling reliability.

I had some problems with overboosting in the gas system but never had any problems hand cycling/ejecting.
On the other hand I've tossed the 308 barrel and built one in 338BR for subsonic heavies and I'm working on a 6.5 X 47 Lapua. Who wants a 308 anyway?
