Sorry, to revive a 3-year old thread...
I have just acquired a set of MDT Elite rings 1.5" high with the integrated bubble level.
The manual cited above says that the ring with the bubble level should be installed on the front and the ring without the bubble should be installed on the rear of the scope. This is also shown on the pic for step 2 of the manual:
All the pics from the net (that I have found) show that the bubble level is placed on the back ring - towards the shooter and not on the front one. This seems more logical for the purpose of actually using the bubble to level the rifle and the scope respectively in a shooting situation.
So, why does the manual says the opposite?
Would it be easier to spot the bubble level on the front ring set, assuming that the riflescope will obscure the view towards the front ring set?
Has anybody actually installed this ring with the bubble level on the front and not on the rear?
