I picked up The Gen 2 Lss-xl chassis on sale for black Friday. I'm putting together a .223 based on a savage 12 fv action for my nephew whos 7. I know theres better out there but I like the 3 position safety and the ability to easily grow with him as needed. I was going to have the barrel cut down to 18" or 20" for ease of handling when in the treestand and weight but didn't know how the gun would balance. Anyone with a Lss-xl make suggestions on barrel length?
