Me and my buddy did some shooting today...

My son Mason and I hit our property in hopes to zap a few 'chucks... Instead after seeing him getting a lil antsy, turned him loose on some targets.
Was really proud of my lefty shooter...

Not a bad group for a 9 y/o with open sites with his 22. He took his time and squeezed...

how much lead can a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck lead... The .17 Rem waiting to zap something...

What targets you using? I agree with zrat on the eys protection, but I can't preach what I dont use either....

YOU ARE 100% RIGHT ON THE EYES and I totally forgot them as I didnt take my normal range bag. I ordered him a set to keep in my truck and myself an extra. I knew someone would picked that up and I thank you for that!

That target is an old plastic crow decoy... I had set out 40 yards away.

Good times getting the kiddos out there. I got my son his first 22 when he was 10, and have been having many a fun times at the range since.

40 YARDS!! Nice... you need to enter him in the Smack-The-Smiley competition. It would be great for him to learn and work on his basics, and he just might get drawn for some great prizes!!

Love to see the younguns shooting. I keep several pairs of cheap safety glasses in my truck as well as a couple good pairs in the range bag. Lots of disposable ear plugs too. Some of the folks I take shooting think I'm anal about it but...

The gun is the TC Hotshot... the kid Version of the Encore. Funny story, A month or so before Xmas I ask my son, if you could pick a special present for xmas, what would it be? he said that he wanted a 22 just like my encore.. same camo, everything... I was bummed as I didnt know TC even had this gun on the market and I've never heard of anyone with anything that close in resemblance. So a few days later, I go up to the local gun shop which a very good friend owns... He goes come here, check this out... and hands me that TC Hotshot... I'm like what the hell is this??? and better yet is it sold? He said its the new TC kids encore! I could not believe it! I just blurted out, gimmie the paperwork... I was more excited then ever! He said He only got 2 out of the 5 he ordered in, very hard to get at that time. Well xmas morning was a hit needless to say. I even pulled it off like the Christmas story, hid it behind the curtains and made him open it. last. The look on his face was awesome!
