I Da ho
Recently messed around with some varget and 140s for the 6.5cm and went beyond book max without noticable signs of over pressur. Later I was measuring cases with comparator and rcbs precision mic and noticed some of the cases expanded more than others. Some beyond what standard Hornady match ammo does. Just wondering if this is a sign of the begining of over pressure?

2nd firing, fl sized.

Once fired factory goes from -.002-3 pre to +.002-3 and the 2nds go as high as +.008 (min spec) these are hard to re-insert in the rifle. Interesting to feel the difference between them. I can feel resistance at about .005

Wondering if the range over is relative to gradually increased pressure.

Beginning? No. You are way over maximum pressure.

Im thinking so also.

Seems like sort of a pitfall of working up to max load for a rifle. Other than measuring brass people often rely on telltale signs like hard to extract or bolt swipes which seems likely way over max.

If you've ever done testing with piezo transducers in a test barrel, it will teach ove thing very quickly.
Once SAAMI max pressure is reached, over pressure spikes very quickly.
Crimp, seating depth and bullet type can create big changes also.
