That last section talking about new wound care tech...
The Wound Stasis System (WSS) program injects a foam directly to the site of the uncontrolled bleeding while in transport and stops the bleeding until the foam can be removed by a doctor at a full-service hospital.
A Vid demonstration is pretty interesting...Any body fully up to speed care to share more info?

My wife did Medevac for 11 years. She was a Sgt and her team supported ops all over the map. Kept a lot of guys alive and put together. They were mostly in C-130s taking casualties from field ops to a more advanced hospital but the C-130s were very well equipped themselves. On some occasions they went in with a helicopter to "secure" areas - sometimes it wasn't secure. She's the most steady nurse with a needle I know. She said she got some practice starting IVs and delivering meds while being shot at so its a piece of cake in a calm environment.

I was surprised how much they dealt that were not combat related injuries. First casualty she saw in Kuwait was a guy that got hit by a truck on the flight line.
