Meopta Optika6 In Stock Inventory

With all the excitement about these new scopes I thought I'd do a quick post with what's available for immediate shipment.

Announced at SHOT Show 2019 was Meopta Optika 6 series of riflescopes, bringing the MeoPro line to the next level by pairing the performance you have come to expect from Meopta with a 6x magnification range. These scopes are designed to give hunters and shooters the features they demand and the quality they deserve in a highly specialized, affordable optic. All Optika 6 riflescopes are available with patented DichroTech reticles that enhance target acquisition, particularly in low light conditions. 30mm main tubes are standard for the ultimate in durability and range of adjustment.

These scopes have been painfully slow arriving, however, those that have been received, shipped and used are getting amazing feedback.

Optika 6 Hunting riflescopes feature SFP reticles in numerous configurations, including reticles specific for .223 and 6.5 Creedmoor. Exposed, locking elevation turrets are available on 3-18 and 4.5-27 models allowing for fast adjustments in the field with no worry of bumping your rifle off zero. The 4.5-27x50 also features a zero-stop for repeatable return-to-zero no matter what range you dial in for.
Optika 6 Shooting riflescopes feature FFP reticles with MIL or MOA elevation and windage adjustments, locking elevation turrets, and zero stop elevation on all but the 1-6x24. The 5-30x56 features a 34mm main tube providing excellent range of adjustment for precise long range shooting.

Ok, so down to brass tacks, I see conflicting info between basically all sources so Im going to present my thoughts and questions for clarification. This will all be based on the FFP scopes, dont care about the second focals.

The MRAD RD reticle is this one and it is present in the 4.5-27 and 5-30 scopes only?

The MRAD 1 RD reticle with the large center circle is what is present in both the 3-18x50 and the 3-18x56 models only correct? 4.5-27 as well
1578506067470.png

Next Tubes- The 3-18s and 4.5-27 have 30 mm tubes, the 5-30 goes up to a 34mm tube.

Internal Adjustment range- The 3-18s both have 26 mils of elevation travel, the 4.5-27 has 24 mils of travel and the 5-30 has 32 mils of travel.

Parallax- The 3-18s both have 10 yd minimum parallax, the 4.5-27 and 5-30 have 25 yd minimum.

Turrets- The 3-18s have a capped windage with a elevation being a locking zero stop. The 4.5-27 has exposed unlockable windage with a locking zero stop elevation. The 5-30 has exposed unlockable windage with exposed unlocking zero stop elevation?

I have the same questions and have the same assumptions.

Everything on there is correct except point one about the reticles; see below:
  1. MRAD RD is only in the 5-30x56. The 4.5-27 and 3-18 have the MRAD-1 with the horseshoe.
  2. Tube sizes are correct
  3. MIL travel is correct according to info I have
  4. Parallax info is correct; 3-18x50 and 56 both have 10 yard parallax minimum, 4.5-27 and 5-30 are 25 yds
  5. 3-18 FFP have capped windage and locking zero stop elevation, 4.5-27 and 5-30 have exposed non-locking windage and locking zero stop elevation, so this is correct yes.

So only the SFP 3-18 and below have a capped windage? (though locking windage would be even better)

I don't really see the point in a locking elevation turret without also being able to lock the windage, zero stop or not. But especially since they already have zero stops on the elevation, makes the locking elevation redundant feature.

FFP 3-18x50 has capped windage.

So it does ?... skipped right over that. The 56mm objective does as well.
The 5-30 is really what has my interest though so I guess I got worked up reading this and just glossed over the fact. Might be enough to push me that way over a 5-30 though.

Wish they were all locking windage.

I agree. I really prefer windage to be locking or capped. Both 5-30x56 and 3-18x50 are nice scopes. 5-30x56 is really a nice precision scopes for the money, but I really like the 3-18x50 as a general purpose crossover scope.

Wait... so whats the difference between the "5-30x56 FFP" and the "5-30x56 RD FFP"?

Its listed like that on the website:
  • A boring z plex model
  • The dichro models (which I can understand being different)
  • Then the good stuff under RD
Not being clear on which actual MRAD RD reticle it actually is (though I think we sorted that out already above)

As well as in the downloadable brochure only here is dumps the Dichro in with the Z plex instead, so going from 3 categories to 2.

I then found a price listing for Europe- these item numbers are 102XXXX and do not match up tot he US numbers which are all 63560X
But it points out that the Dichro models arent illuminated- So I can understand why those are separated out elsewhere. However it doesnt really provide any clarity into anything else.

So cameralands MPN numbers are
653600 which is a Dichro BDC
653605 which is the Zplex
653606 is .308 BDC
653607 is 6.5 BDC
653608 is the MRAD RD

But googling Meopta 653608 gets you a mildot on eurooptic, the mrad 1 RD reticle picture at sports optics, and so on but there are more that are showing it as the MRAD RD like we expect it to be. So Im gonna guess that cameralandny has the proper MPN numbers. I just assumed that eurooptic etc would have the correct info as well.

Son of a B, I submitted a request to meopta and he sent me the product listing while I was going keyboard commando on that above post. Looks like cameralandny has their listings down pat... even though the 653607 6.5 BDC isnt listed here you can see where it would logically place in the list.

Unfortunately it shows the 3-18s having the MRAD RD instead of the MRAD 1 RD

Edit: "The 5-30 uses the MRAD-RD, yes. Both the 4.5-27 and 3-18 have the MRAD-1 RD with the horseshoe."

I guess the RD designation in the scopes just means that it is illuminated.
Edit: "RD is, yes, just our abbreviation for illuminated reticle models."

Erik with meopta is a quick responder, I like him, hes been the best part of my dealings with meopta so far LOL
