I received my new Meredith Custom rifle on Wednesday and proceeded to do the barrel break in procedure. My first impression of the rifle was....WOW!! The fit and finish is exactly what I expected from a good smith and the quality of the over all package was super. After the break in (which is a PITA!) I proceeded to shoot some groups with 178 Hornady Superperformance ammo. There was minimal shift cold bore to the next 4 shots. Keep in mind this gun is new but the 5 rounds could be covered with a nickel including the cold bore. I hope to stretch it out a little more in the coming weeks.
I went with a Manners stock and a M40 contour fluted barrel to move the weight up front a little more. Having a little offset of the weight up front seems to soot me very well and the gun returns to the target after each shot. I had stopped using US Optics and went all NF but for this one, Tooter convinced me to give them another try so we put a 3.2-17 TPal on it. So far I am very pleased with the package and the colors turned out excellent. The metal is "Snipers Grey" and the stock is multi shades of grey and black. Really looks good.
If some one can post pictures for me, I will put up some pictures to show the quality of the rifle. The only issue is I have to chose the GAP or the Meredith when going shooting!!lol
