Hey Hiders,
I am considering purchasing a Mesa Precision Arms M5 Bottom Metal for a .223 Remington 700 build. I'm likely going to buy the bundle that Red Hawk Rifles sells - Grayboe Renegade plus the Mesa Bottom Metal for $399. How are these bottom metals for the price? Are the fit/finish/feeding OK? I am going to use the MDT .223 Polymer AICS magazines with this build.

Thanks!

I bought the same package deal from RHR a while back for my Rem700. The Mesa Precision bottom metal is a nice piece, had excellent fit and finish, and the texturing detail on the mag release is fantastic. It is a great bottom metal for the price. When I got my new LH 223 built it came with a Hawkins Precision DBM, but I liked the Mesa DBM better so I swapped it over. I did have to make a few modifications to my 223 MDT mag, but that was due to the magazine and not the Mesa bottom metal. You should be GTG with that package deal!

I agree with the above, fit and finish on the Grayboe M5 inlet with one of these is perfect all around, including sitting flush. I use Magpul mags (.308) and theres no rattles other than the follower in the mag when it's empty, and they free fall out when you hit the mag release. Just got it a week or so ago so haven't shot with it yet, but so far happy with the stock & dbm.
