Rifle Scopes micro sights

lookin into a micro sight to be added on a 20 inch bolt gun for "tactical sniper" or whatever which club wants to call their match using bolt guns at different distances and alternate firing positions. Cant say it's not also just a teenie bit cause it'd be tacti-cool, but suck it I want one.

I've tried doing a search and couldnt quite get the answer or opinions I'm looking for.

I've used a Aimpoint micro on a pistol shootin bullseye and like it but seems to be a little on the big side for what 'm wantin it for. (used one, not mine)

looking for you guys that have tried them and your thoughts. It seems they are generally in the same ballpark as far as coinage. Talkin mainly bout the trijicon RMR, the docter line, aimpoint micro or comparible. It will be mounted on a Badger rail ring cap.

any advice or opinions?

Take a look at the fast fire... or something called that.. BURRIS makes it I think...

I am looking at one for my rig as well.... I have heard good things about it.... and its about 1/2 the cost...

just looked at that burris, got some really good reviews but it's a burris, I personally have had them on my no buy list for along time, maybe a little unwaranted. It is more than half the cost tho, get what you pay for?

Have you considered the Vortex SPARC? They are similar to the Aimpoint micros and are a good value for the price. We currently have them in-stock...

well here's what I went with. I couldnt find any bad reviews of the burris fastfire 2 so I checked one out at Cabelas this weekend. It seems to be a nifty little device, SEEMS well built and has all the features of the higher end models such as the sensor that changes the brightness setting automatically. for the price I figured I had to give it a try, can always return it or trade/sell to upgrade later. A drawback I see already though is that you have to unmount the optic to replace the battery. Swung by badger and picked up a ring cap mount. I mounted it initially rearward on the rear ring but didnt quite like that so I moved it to the forward ring and like that much better. Now I need to zero it and see if it can hold up to using it as a hammer. Will try and write up a first hand review after I get some range time.

with those little sights bro you won't have to change the batteries very frequently. I have yet to change mine on my work gun and its been in there for like 4 years.

I used a TNVC RDP II and it wasn't bad. It was only $130ish and worked fine for what I used it for.

thanks, thats good to know, they claim that even when you do have to replace the battery the 4 nubs will bring it right back to where it was, don't believe that tho,l we'll see

BW, what mount you running? I'm gonna shoot it and see with the Badger but was curious bout mounting it at 12 o'clock as to make zeroing easier. how ya like it up top and not canted?

I'm using the TNVC mount too. It is functional but offers no protection for the lense or body. Having it mounted at 12 is much easier to zero than having it canted, and it has a wider field of view that way since you don't have the scope body in the way.

ahh I see. The pics of mine are a little decieving, I can keep a decent stock weld and cant the gun just a hair to see through the reflex sight, that said I havent shot the rig yet, but thus far I'm not sold on the 2 o'clock position so wondering if at 12 0'clock is yer head floating to align with the sight and if so can you shoot well out to say 250 with it? I'm a little OCD when it comes to the setup, sorry

I have experimented quite a bit with micro sigth and RMR on my TRG.
For shoting in standing position 12 a clock is fine, but there is none checkweld whatsoever.
12o'clock position is in my opinion very difficult in prone position and therefor I prefer the 2 o'clock position that fits much better to prone and actuelly gives somewhat checkweld in both standing and prone positions.
