Rifle Scopes Mid price range spotting scope

Re: Mid price range spotting scope

Shooting
Ranging would be great except they all seem to be $1500 up except the bushnell entry
So for the now I will continue using my Mark 4 scope with TMR

Re: Mid price range spotting scope

Kowa's are nice but I ended up wit a Pentax 80mm. It uses ED glass. Jut a little more than 1k but less than 1.2k.
I put it next to my friends Leica 77mm scope and I just saw a little diffrence around the edges. Here is a wtite up and link.

Also another review to read..

Pentax PF-80ED / PF-80ED-A / PF-100ED Spotting Scope (PX-SS-RF-ED, PX-SS-RF-EDA) - This Pentax PF-80ED spotting scope has been a favorite in many spotting scope reviews for its awesome performance. Part of that, of course, is due to the ED glass used in the objective, but part of the performance is due to the extraordinary Pentax XL series astronomical eyepieces that can be used with this scope. In fact, the Pentax PF-80ED spotting scope is unique in that it can use any standard 1 1/4 inch astronomical eyepiece on the market today

Re: Mid price range spotting scope

I would search craiglist. I found my leica televid 77 with eyepiece for $350. The lady even had receipts for it. Keep an eye out and get good glass. It will last you a lifetime.

Re: Mid price range spotting scope

I have the Bushnell Elite with ED glass, very clear and nice.I have looked thru others and say it compares favorably...you really do need to check a few out in person as everyones eyes are different and percieve things in a different scale.

A couple of these scopes I have not tried but now will
I am going to make the drive to Cabella's WV store and try some side by side comparisons of the models they carry
Any other thoughts please send them my way
