I've had the gen 1 PST a while back and its nothing special. Things like the zero stop, while it works and is functional, are a old school design. Glass is not particularly great either. The Midas tac overall is much better. But...
If you can wait and save some more getting a Steiner P4xi 4-16 from cameraland ny is a huge step up and your getting a really great scope for the money as opposed to something that is adequate but not great.

The Midas TAC 4-16 and the 6-24 are 30mm tube. The 5-25 is 34mm tube.

Hey, at least I didn't say just wait till you can buy a nightforce, or a razor gen2.
I got a midas tac 30mm. Been a great optic. Tracks better than anything I have owned. Glass is about like a viper pst 2.
I've got those Midas Tac ready to rock, with a level and lever installed at no cost. You'll find it to be a substantial step up from a Gen 1 Viper!
I’m glad you pointed it out as I have an AR10 the Steiner would be great on. One project at a time never seems to work for me.lol
