I frequent MidwayUSA's site quite often and noticed they are showing 1/20 mil turreted Mark 4s "Coming Soon". Just thought it was interesting as I've never noticed anyone stocking them. 1/20 seems awfully fine though.

It's not that fine. It's still .18" at 100 yards.

One of the "complaints" against mil knobs is that the 1/10 mil per click for some seems too large (.36" @ 100 yards), or at least that they don't get the same amount of control as with MOA knobs because 1/4 MOA click is ~.25".

1/20 Mil click actually seems a pretty good idea, until one has to click 20 times to get a full mil of adjustment.

Re: Midway Showing Mil Turrent Mark 4s.

1/20 mil clicks seems about worthless on a tactical scope. Sure, its more refined for less than 100 yard shots but 1/10mil and minor holdovers are much more effective at short ranges with the fact that things are fractioned in tenths rather than 1/5ths. 1/10mil clicks are also .18 inch clicks at 200 yards which is more realistic for any type of long range tactical shooting.....

You have it backwards. 1/10 mil clicks are .72" at 200 yds. 1/20 mil clicks are more refined for more than 100 yd shots, not less.

1/20 Mil adjustments are finer than 1/10 Mil at EVERY range from 2.36895965" to a bazillion yards, 1/20 Mil will still be finer than 1/10 Mil clicks.

And no, 1/10 Mil clicks are not .18" at 200 yards, but .72".

Re: Midway Showing Mil Turrent Mark 4s.

Leupold is out of touch with the tactical scope market if they don't change to 0.1 mil clicks. It is the world standard for good reasons.

With 0.1 mils clicks the most you are off the intended point of aim is half that value, 0.18" at 100 yds, or 0.36" at 200. Who can shoot better than that...

Tell that to all the Zeiss fans!

Re: Midway Showing Mil Turrent Mark 4s.

The new knobs will be .1 mil, upgrades to existing Mk 4 type knobs can be done via the Custom Shop. The PSR scope with locking knobs will be commercially available as well. I just wrote it up for Harris Pubs, so it should be in print soon. There is a whole new mil products section at Leupold now, with experianced people being given what they need to make us all happy. I've spoken with them, I think you'll be pleased with the work they are doing.

Re: Midway Showing Mil Turrent Mark 4s.

Agreed, the 1/10 is the way for a tactical maybe not a benchrest shooter but with hold over to cover the gap ??

Before this thread descends too deeply into madness, just too be clear, am I understanding correctly that Leupold will finally be offering the Mark 4 line with 1/10 Mil clicks?
