Hard to belive anyone with a $4,000 scope on to of a $3,000 rifle doesn't also have a range finder.

My rangefinder is worth way more than that rifle....

So, did you put the coyote on the ground? If so, do you have any measurements on him/her? I'm getting a shoulder height of 21 inches (+/-1), based on your range and my milling of the picture. And, you can't say you've been away chasing elk and not post any pics...

(And, my estimate would have sailed over the coyote's back.)

Would be good to know what measurements you took from it, if any. Although I’m pretty content with my guess of 288yds!

Thanks for posting this. I’ve been lurking for a while, but don’t (haven’t) posted before. This was the first time I’ve actually mil’d anything. Gotta love google, since I didn’t know the average size of a coyote or the formula for ranging. I appreciate the push you gave me. It was fun.
