Rifle Scopes Millet TRS-1?? Which Mounts??

Gonna pick one up for my gun. Can get it for 290. Now that its a 30mm tube what size rings would i need to clear the 50mm objective?? Was gonna pick up some Millet rings to go along with it. Getting them from same guy.

I got the SWFA Meium rings for my SPS. They are on bak order so it might be awhile if you want to order the SS rings. I have the same scope. TRS-1 shoots great at 100 yds on my savage 223....That was just for break-in. I havent had the time nor the rnge to stretch it out. There s a huge thread on the millet optics. 'll find it and repost

As for the Millett rings...a local G-smith here in Moss Bluff swears by them but Im no where near an expert on Millett rings or the differences between them and Badger or similiar brands other than Material comp. or design. Hope this helps. I've seen alot of people using Leupy's and Badger Ordnance.

Like i said earlier. They are on backorder so I dont have them yet. i have leupold Lows on my savage with a 40mm on it and with the 50mm Obj. the obj. ring is a frog hair away from the barrel. this link is from the SS website, This is a savage much like mine (different Color) and the scope they have mounted is a 42mm OBJ. there is enough room for the 50mm obj with the sunshade and flipups. hope this helps.

Thanks alot guys. I have just the standard Leuopld bases and gonna get the millet or burris lows for the scope. Does it matter what the base is?

I have the NightForce 1 piece 20MOA for my SPS and the 2 piece for the savage

The Burris Xtreme rings are what I would recommend. Let me know if I can assist you.

I agree w/ fpdsniper on the Burris Xtreme Rings. I have a couple sets on rifles and they are excellent.

I have a Rem 700 SPS-V that wears a TRS-1 on an EGW 0moa base with Smith low rings. I had Burris XTReme low rings also and had no clearance issues between Butler Creek caps and the barrel.
