Wondering if anyone had any experience with the Millet TRS 1-scope. Do not want to spend more than 400.00 on a scope for my DPMS 308

I have a TRS-1 on my Savage .308. Adjustments are 1/4"@100yds and precise and easy to use. Glass is clear. For the money... a good scope.
I do not have any of the "high end" scopes to compare it to. Best scope I have is a Leupold 6.5X20. Hard to compare as the Millet is a 30mm tube and the Leupold is 1".

If you use the search function you'll find a ton of info on these scopes. I have/had 4 of them and I've never had a problem with any of them! I think they're hard to beat for the price!

I've been looking at the same scope for my DPMS LR30s. I haven't had any personal experience with them, but the overall concensus seems to be "good scope for the money" and the prices seem to have come down a few $ in the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, none of the stores in my area have one I can "put my hands on". I'm going to order one this week, so let me know if you're still shopping in a week or 2, as I'll probably have mine by then.

there are 4 threads on this scope and as an owner of one id try the swfa super sniper instead or a falcon or just read thru the optics thread for some low price options. its decent but man, it was new and i had to send it in for warranty replacement right out of the box. ill see how this second one goes but i may have gone a different way had i read about it before buying. i was without internet at the time

i have a trs-2 and its ok. i sent it in one beCause of dust speCs on the inside of the lenses. i also had issues of the knobs being sloppy. i would dial up 8 Cliks then baCk down 8. the lines on the knobs dont line up anymore. it ended up on the 22lr. i dont know what the new ones are like. ive heard that there are different generations. i also have a super sniper. i had to send that baCk onCe also. but it was 10yrs after i got it. mold grew on the lense. i used to live in a high humidity area. they sent me a new one. just as good as the first. i would Choose a supersniper first.

I have read the other threads on the TRS-1 and I know more than a few people have had issues with them, but there are also people who have had them for years with no problems. They have had definite QC issues. No question about that. But from what I've heard about them, if they are going to fail, they will probably do so right out of the box, or shortly thereafter. I spoke with a distributor and someone at Bushnell, and they assured me that are committed to taking care of those issues, and from what I've read on SH, they seem to be doing so. Does this give me 100% confidence in the scope I am buying? No.
That being said, I am not a professionl, just someone who enjoys shooting. If the scope fails,no mission will be compromised, no lives will be lost, and I will simply send it back and take Bushnell at thier word that they will do right by me. Will i regret my decision? Possibly, but for $298 I'll give it a try. What can it hurt?
This scope is going on a .300 Rem. SA Ultra Mag, so if it's going to fail, it's going to fail! And I fully intend to shoot the f*** out of this thing to find out. I will probably be harder on it than I would on a $2000 Nightforce, only because I would tend to be very protective of anything I spent that much money on, even if it is built to handle abuse.
So, we shall see. I may be another happy Millett customer, or this may be the only one I ever buy.

I finally tried out my new Millett TRS-1 yesterday at the range. Mounted on a DPMS LR30S with Burris Extreme tactical med rings. The only problem I had was that the ring bases loosened up on the rail, which was my fault. Once I tightened them up and got back on paper, I was pretty happy with the scope.
Clicks were tactile and audible with no "mush" in between. Glass was pretty good, and I was able to easily see my hits at 200 yards. Another shooter let me look through his Falcon Menace, and in my opinion, the optical quality was comparable.
I put about 70 rounds of 300RSAUM through the rifle and the scope is holding zero.
My only complaint is that the turrets have some "wobble" to them, due to the single screw being used as opposed to the 3 screws used on the older models, which made it difficult to use the come-up lines for quick adjustments.
Next time out I plan to box test it and try it out to 400 yds.
