Rifle Scopes Millet TRS 4-16 x50 Is it good?

Hey Everyone,

My name is Joe and I am new to the forum! I've been lerking around for some time now, and finally signed up.

Now to the questions... How is the millet trs scopes?
Are they no good, poor build, bad len's. I was thinking about picking one up and not sure? Please is you have any insight on the scope please let me know.

welcome to the site. try search, i have at least 2 or 3 threads about my millett issues and there are double or triple that besides mine. warranty is great, bushnell will take care of any issues. there are a few things to check as mine was busted right out of the box. after some back and forth i got bushnell to replace it. then i started taking my rifle apart and as yet have still not shot the new mil/mil Millett TRS-1. as soon as my base gets here, ill run it thru its paces and let you know. over all its decent, but read up and decide for yourself if its worth the gamble and the wait. gamble its not broken and wait while its repaired or replaced. that being said, its decent for the money, but if you plan on being in this for a while, save up and get a nightforce, USO, PREMIER or S&B and you will have that forever AND be able to get your money back.

if thats not something your able to do, there are a few other scopes in that price range that may be better. like a Supersniper 10x or a vortex or a bushnell 3200 even. there was a TRS-1 for sale a few days ago for $260 that a guy had and it was too long for his rifle. in the optics section, but i cant find it now

I ordered one and everything worked fine, except the lense had a terrible reflection above 10x power. It was so bad as to be unusable. Millett offered to "repair" it for me, but I'm not really a fan of repairing brand-new products at my cost so I sent it back to SWFA who did me right and exchanged it for a SuperSniper 16x scope. Great customer service on their part, I highly recommend them.

Proceed with caution, if you get a good one they are pretty sweet but that isn't necessarily the rule. If you need to send it back, figure UPS shipping to them on your dime plus $10 for them to look at it (per their warranty). They will return ship it to you at their cost.

my experience was totally the opposite, but i was a pain and made multiple calls. i got free shipping both ways and paid nothing. i spoke to someone and asked to have a mil/mil version as a replacement if repair wasnt an option. within a week i had my new scope.

search is your best friend on this site. i have 3 posts on my millet issues and there are more by others. read and decide if its gonna work for you. they look nice and have great features, its just a matter of them working as advertised.

Thanks to all that had posted a reply! I have been doing alot of searhing on the scope; but I just wanted some more insight. This is the forum that I found most of the topic's on.

took my trs-1 out to 500 meters today. worked fine. even killed a couple clays...

For the money, you should be very happy with the Millett. However, if you can find a store that carries them, you can make sure that the glass looks good, as this is one of the major concerns I have heard about them.

My friend has been demo'ing one for the last few months, and he has really liked it. He said for the money he is more than happy with the quality it offers.
