I was curious if anyone had any experience with the Millett Tactical scopes and would care to give any feedback on them. I am considering changing over to a scope with .1 mil click turrets rather than the MOA click turrets but I don't want to pay 1200 bucks for one and not like it. It seems as though it is a fairly well built scope for the price but I'm open for any advice.

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

i have a Millet buck gold varmint target special 6-25x56 mil dot scope from them .It was a good scope until last week it stopped tracking right then it fogged up on me at high power(16-25 power), scope had never been dropped and its been on a 308 the whole time I've had it.i called Bushnell and they told me to send it back and i should have it back in 7-10 days (so well see). i also asked the rep if that kind of stuff happens to these scopes alot and she sad not really but this isn't the first one they got back for this same problem hope this helps. u might wont to look into a super sniper they seem to be good scopes and they cost about the same

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

I have a 1st gen Millett TRS-1. It is 4-16x50mm, 1/8moa adjustments and SFP reticle that is ranging accurate at 16x. It is reasonably clear, holds a zero and adjusts and tracks accurately. The illuminated reticle tends to wash out the rest of the optic even on the NV setting. The next generation scope retained the 1/8moa adjustments but changed from a regular 5-dot mil-dot reticle to a mil-dot/bar reticle that was ranging accurate at 10x. The newest scope is 1/4moa or .1mil adjustments, has come-up counter on the elevation knob, has a single center screw to zero the knobs, reduced illumination intensity on the lowest 5 settings.

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

I think that thread pretty much answers my questions lol. I guess I'm just going to have to be patient and save up some money for something I know I can rely on, more than likely it will be a Nightforce. I'm just itching to get back out to the range...

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

I got mine (new generation TRS1) from Big River Tctical for 299.00. The turrets say 1/4moa on the new ones, they have the come up counters, a single screw, and I believe the lit reticle adjustment knob is smaller.

does it have the mil dots accurate/true at 10x or 16x?

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

To see which you're getting, call and ask if it has a single screw on the turrets in the center and if the adjustments are 1/4moa or 1/10mil. These are indicative of the newest version.

Any of the Millett TRS-1s with the mil-dot-bar reticle have the 1 mil spacing equal to 3.6" at 100 yards at 10x (+/-), and are marked and have a detent at this point. On my 1st Gen TRS, it is 16x, and I verified this on a target I made using AutoCad where the grid lines are 3.6" apart. You could probably duplicate this with a magic marker, ruler and make the lines 3 9/16" apart.

just saying...

PLus, I think you can get it in mil/mil.

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

i will never buy any thing from millett again they have sent me three scopes since my first post and they have all had something wrong with them the day i pulled them out of the box...i spent more money sending scopes back then what i paid for the first one

new generation varmint target 6-25x56.side focus mil-dot.30mm tube = JUNK

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

just to chime in, i thought i was the only one. my only issue was that i only have 66 moa elevation from the turrets bottom to top limits. bushnell said send it back. we will see what happens. guy on the phone said "less than 1% of these scopes come back" with just myself and the few others i have read about on this forum, that must just be us huh? overall im happy with it, but id be tickled pink if it actually worked

Re: Millett Tactical feedback

I had a first generation that was mil accurate at 16x but the 1/8 moa elevation was off, checked it out all the way to 700 yds and the elevation was only moving .08" as opposed to .125". I found someone to sell it too. Oh yes it was used on a .338 Lapua. I have a 2nd gen. with the mildot bar reticle that is not accurate at 10x but about 10.5x but the .125 moa elevation is right on, optics are good not great. It has about 500 rds on it through a .308.
