So I came upon a steal of a deal on a Mil-Spec 5R in .223 a few weeks ago. Bolt and Bore look great according to my local smith, He said if I had been fired it wasn't much or well cleaned everytime it was shot. The action has been rattle canned Black ( no big deal I can take care of that) and its in a Hogue Stock ( Why I don't know but it is and I think is why it was mistaken for a BDL and not what it actually is.) Anyways Its going to be restocked and Im trying to figure out what I want and need but also get the best bang for my buck.
So Who has info on the best quality stock or chassis for under 700.00 I don't have to have the best of the best I just want good quality and bang for the Buck.

For stocks check out Grayboe. Very nice if you want a stock. For a chassis maybe consider MDTs new Oryx, a complete chassis for $400. If you want a stock feel with chassis features (rigidity, easily add on accessories) check out the KRG Bravo.

If you’re trying to figure out “wants and needs” I think you should first decide what the rifle will be used for and what you want to achieve with it. That will help in defining a list of wants and needs. Then use said list to help narrow your choice.

In addition to what’s been suggested: $700 and under can also get you into certain models of McMillans and Manners stocks. Depending on how you define “bang for buck” the options mentioned in the previous post may be better choices.
