Re: Mine is bigger than yours!! Falcon optics:)

here in america we don't try to compensate for our "shortcomings" in other places by adding a super long sunshade

we actually buy big trucks to make up for it!!!

just kidding, like your rig

Re: Mine is bigger than yours!! Falcon optics:)

I've gotten over sunshades.

If I actually need one I'll screw it on, or use the Tenebraex ARD.

The long-assed sunshade makes a hell of a lever on the front of the scope that will increase torque against the scope tube if you drop it and it hits near the front of the shade.

But its thin, like a piece of pasta, and takes 2 add-ons to get out to the bipod stud!

no extensions needed (although I am waiting on an ARD!):

Oh, that was more for montana marine.

I do think that the 4" sunshade WITH ARD is a bit overkill. I think that an USO ARD is roughly equivalent to having a 2 foot long sunshade on a scope. Adding 2" wouldn't do much. Still, I always seem to need a sunshade. Half the time the sun is coming in at a really low angle and the other half it's raining.

Ambient temps and humidity have a huge effect on barrel mirage. There have been days for me where anything over 5 shots would result in a smear-ee image from barrel mirage.
