What is the accepted min.barrel diameter for threading, on a .308? I am taking a sporter barrel to 16" and wondering if the 5/8" dia. is enough.

Well, if you are threading it 5/8-24 then 5/8 seems like enough. You may have gotten a better response in the gunsmithing section.

I'v done quite a few in 5/8x24 and it works just fine. Hope this helps. Paul
