Mis-aligned base or action?

Another new shooter with I'm sure a dumb question. I've done as much research as I could before asking a question about this but can't be sure without hearing it straight from one of the many experts here. I bought a 20moa Nightforce base to put on my recently purchased Rem 5R. As I installed it I noticed it doesn't quite line up perfect with the reciever and ejection port. I can't imagine it causing any kind of problem...I was just wondering if its normal for the base to not line up with the ejection port?

If you are refering to the fore and aft alignment, I think the NF base has a built in recoil lug that contacts the forward part of the ejection port. So the base will over hang the ejection port a lillte. Take the base off and flip it over, youll see it.

One more thing, when installing these bases install with all screws in but loose and push the base forward then tighten the base.

You may have to bed the base to the action. I had to do this with my Ferral base. I used pc-7.

I think he is talking about the end of the mount not being flush with the ejection port. There is nothing wrong with the reciever or mount.
