Gunsmithing Mission: Impossible. Newbie hand true/square surplus M1903 action.

This seems to be a fairly esoteric project idea based on pure "want to" and my love of the M1903. The cost of the action helps, too.

My goal: acquire a surplus M1903 action and bolt, and do whatever I can with hand tools to build it into something worth shooting.

What will I need?

An action wrench that fits an M1903?
A facing pilot and cutter?

Books, guides? Please, help me get started.

I'm guessing finding a stock with proper inletting will be a challenge as well.
